United Therapeutics , Liquidia – A Delaware federal court on Wednesday ruled that Liquidia’s lung treatment infringed a patent held by United Therapeutics. Following the decision, BTIG upgraded United Therapeutics to buy, saying “a large legal win likely clears a path to resumed growth through 2027,” and downgraded Liquidia to neutral. “We view this ruling as a negative outcome for Liquidia, as its ability to market Yutrepia is expected to be restricted.” Shares of United Therapeutics jumped 6%, while shares of Liquidia tumbled 15%. Constellation Energy — Shares climbed nearly 3% following the energy company’s announcement of a 20-year deal with Amazon that supports generating capacity expansion at a Maryland nuclear power plant. Synopsys — Shares jumped more than 8% following an investor day, which outlined the software company’s growth strategy and long-term targets. Synopsys expects 2027 year-over-year revenue growth of 15%, to $11.1 billion-$11.2 billion, versus the $10.82 billion expected from analysts, according to FactSet. Synopsys also announced a strategic partnership with OpenAI. Sigma Lithium — The Brazilian lithium producer, which trades on Nasdaq, saw shares slide 16%. Forward guidance for low- to mid-teens net sales growth at Acuity Intelligent Spaces was a bit below the Wall Street consensus, StreetAccount said. Mizuho upgraded BJ’s Restaurants to outperform and raised its target price by $2, to $76 per share. “Based on our strong checks, we increase our Q3 [same-store sales] growth estimate to 5.5% from 4.6%, above consensus of 4.3%,” Mizuho said, adding it expects higher revisions through 2027. Vicor — Shares surged almost 10% after the company raised its third-quarter revenue growth guidance to more than 30% from previous guidance of at least 20%. Vicor raised the forecast due to increased royalties from its previously announced first nonexclusive license to Vertical Power Delivery. Corteva — Corteva announced Thursday the formal spinoff of its Vylor seed and genetics business, leaving Corteva a pure-play global crop protection company. The separation came after an appeals court denied the state of California a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction seeking to delay the spin. After the spinoff, the remainder of Corteva plunged 84%. — CNBC’s Darla Mercado, Paulina Likos, Michelle Fox and Fred Imbert contributed reporting. Correction: McCormick is in the midst of combining with Unilever’s foods business in a deal scheduled to close by mid-2027. An earlier version mischaracterized the deal.
